Durga Maa stands for the victory of the LIGHT over darkness. She is an aspect of Maha Shakti - She is Adi Shakti (the original power), Adi Maya (the original illusion caster) and the material manifestation of the Brahman (Supreme Absolute Godhead)
When the NEW MOON and the SUN will MEET in the Skies on May 20th/21st, SHAKTI will rise to meet SHIVA. Beware of the Kundalini energy in your body - and that of Mother Earth!
Shakti and Shiva will celebrate their re-UNION - and a pathway from the Earth through the Moon and the Sun will open to Alcyone and the Pleiades.
We will rise and meet our star brethren from all over the universe ... and upon our return we will find DURGA within ... And during the following moon, that is from May 20th/21st to June 19th 2012, she will be at our side to TEACH and remind us of the lessons of the fearless WARRIOR of the LIGHT whose weapons are the weapons of LOVE, JOY, FORGIVENESS, FAITH, CONSISTENCY, HOPE, GRACE, PEACE and CHARITY which ultimately lead to VICTORY!
So BE it - and so it IS,

Origin of Durga - the mythology
In the ancient times, a demon called 'Mahishasura' earned the favour of 'Lord Shiva' after a long meditation. Shiva, pleased with the devotion of the demon, blessed him with a boon that no man or Deity would be able to kill him. Empowered with the boon, Mahishasura started his reign of terror over the World. People were killed mercilessly and even the Gods were driven out from heaven. The Gods went to Shiva for relief and informed him about the atrocities caused by the demon. Shiva, who is normally unaware of the happenings in the material world, became very angry after hearing all this.
The solution came in the form of his consort, Parvati. All the Gods who were present there contributed their share of energy to Parvati and thus Durga, the eternal mother, was empowered with varied strengths and weapons. Riding a lion, she attacked Mahishasura. After a fierce battle which lasted for four days, Durga transformed into Devi Chamunda, the most ferocious form of the Goddess, and beheaded Mahishasura. This final battle lasted for 43 minutes and is celebrated as the Sandhipuja. The moment of beheading the demon is regarded as the Sandhikhan.
She is called Mahishasuramardini (the slayer of Mahishasura). The holy battle symbolizes the victory of Good over Evil.

WARRIORs of the LIGHT we ARE!
Common link between us appears tobe Shakti.
Somewhere our vibes of Shakti meet.
No doubt as Light we are one
We are the manifestation of the Unmanifested Light.
Beautiful image of Shakti.
BLESSINGS OF SHAKTI TO ONE N ALL.
Interesting concept for a group. I find it interesting only becasue Mother Durga and her darker aspect, Mother Kali are aspects of my Goddess selves. So thank you for inviting me to join.
Our goal this year is to reach total clarity of consciousness and Divine Union with our Source of Life. This concerns the realization of the whole, re- aligning us as one into a resonant rhythm within the universal ascension spiral through single pointed focus in union with our inner Sun Presence and the Group Soul.
