SALT BATHS

Just because winter can be rough doesn’t mean your skin has to be.

This kitchen-cupboard, simple formula is perfect for soothing itchy dry skin and imparting a wonderful smoothness and softness.

Take a few minutes for yourself. As you sink into a warm tub with this deliciously-scented formula, let wintry worries and cares–and itchy, flaky skin–gently dissolve away. Soothing to the skin and to the soul: you will emerge feeling ready for spring!

INGREDIENTS

For one treatment:
1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup sea salt
15 drops essential oil of clary sage, marjoram, lavender, or sandalwood

1. Turn on the tap full blast and pour soda and salt mixture into tub. Add essential oil when tub is full and swish water to mix.

2. You can make large amounts of this formula and store it in a zip-seal bag, jar, or tin.

3. Use as desired. After bath, apply a moisturizer.

My rolfer recommended salt baths to me.  I put in at least a couple of cups of salt (I get 25 lbs for $3.25 at Costco.)  Enough to make my arms float.  And then sink down so that just my face is out of the water.   Its heavenly.  I try to do at least 15 minutes daily.  My hair has quit falling out and my body is soft all the time, whether I lotion it or not afterwards.

The floating sounds great...James Tyberron recommends this too...Aloe baths or rinsing can soothe and refresh afterwards too~cool for balancing~

Have to try the home floating...have tended to be yeast friendly, so I avoid extremes in pH; love floating in the Gulf...maybe should try it. ;-)

Feel like, with the salts, we're surrounded with crystals~a Crystalline environment~

Sometimes, adding flame, wood, breathing air (metal), and we're in the water~ it becomes Elemental {Gaia grounded}, as well~

Adding along music and/or sounding (mantra, root, sacred sounds~Hu, AH, OM~) with/and/or meditation (Divine connection possibility):

Can be such a sacred experience and journeying~

Thanks, dear one.  I checked the bag after I left that message about my salt baths.  It says the salt is combined with yellow prussiate of soda.  I've never heard of that.

I love the quiet of having my ears under water and just my eyes, nose and perhaps my mouth out.  A lovely space for meditation.

My mind just naturally quiets downs.

I love salt baths, as well~ healing: gd for clearance, grounding, cleansing (auric and physical)~Also, as crystals, meditation in salted water w/ a candle near, surrounds one with all elements (air as ether/spirit)~nice for "Toning/sounding as well" .

Experimenting with various salt and/or essential oils:

Lately, I enjoy dead sea varieties (very cleansing/grounding), Himalayan salts, Alaea (Hawaiian) and sea salt/aromatic varieties.

What are some of your favorites?

This recipe works well, when needing an Extra cleanse:

1 cup bath salts

1 cup apple cider vinegar

1 cup baking soda


Mix well, before sitting in tub (this mixtures carbonates/fizzles, initially :-)
