White Buffalo Calf Woman Painting

Hello Everyone :)

I finally finished my painting and wanted to share here. I'm very proud of how it turned out.

Artist Statement:

Originally I wanted to represent the 7 Chakra's in a Native American way as well as depict what White Buffalo Calf woman means to me. I feel very connected to her story as if it were my own. We see her laying there on Mother Earth dreaming of balance and the teachings she has for the people of Earth (Medicine wheel, HOOP of life etc).

Starting from bottom to the top:

Muladhara Chakra- EARTH (world)

Svadhishthana Chakra-WATER (river)

Manipura Chakra-FIRE (fire/sunset)

Anahata Chakra-AIR (smoke)

Vishuddha Chakra-AKASHA/void of space (Rainbow bridge)

Ajna Chakra- Combination of the essence of ALL ELEMENTS in their purest form (White Buffalo)

Sahasrara Chakra- TRANSCENDING all elemental influence (Space/ancestors/spirit world)

I painted the Pleiades in the night sky in correlation to the 7 tipi's down below, because many believe that Pleiadians came down and took the form of Native Americans. I believe this theory is true for myself as well. Others say that that is where we will return when we die, it may be so for some but i would like to return straight to the SOURCE :) and be ONE with Mother/Father GREAT SPIRIT!

I painted 12 cornstalks in correlation to The 12 feathers on the pipe to represent The 12 TRIBES of israel/Abraham. The sprouting corn represents the descendants/offspring. I have heard that this is what the Authentic pipe looks like. Clay with a small buffalo calf on the bowl for the masculinepart and the long wooden pipe for the feminine part. She brought this to the tribe she visited to teach them balance of their two sides and how to pray to the 7 directions

To the East: I call for your power and spirit to come in."

"To the South: to Trust and innocence. To the Little Mouse. To white tailed deer, to the good road home. South, sacred fire of creativity, I seek your vitality in healthy alliance. Thank you for the teachings of relationship; for music, dance and art, those things that carry joy and communion. I pray that my life may unfold in harmony with my kin in all realms.

To the South: I call for your power and spirit to come in."

"To the West: to the Dark Waters of Looking Within. To black bear, brown bear, to raven. To the medicine path. West, power of places between the worlds, I turn to you seeking passage into the depths of knowing and unknowing. Thank you for the lightening and the cleansing rain, for those things that teach compassion and nourish understanding. Thank you panther, for the medicine of solitude and the silent stalking for truth.

To the West: I call for your power and spirit to come in."

"To the North: Home of the old ones and those gone by. To the wisdom place, place of White Buffalo and Snow Leopard, Moose and Beaver. North, Spirit’s mountaintop, I turn to you for wisdom. In the place free of shadow I seek perspective and a path of service. Thank you for the gifts of lodge and sustenance. I pray to live upon this gracious earth with remembrance of gratitude and with respect for my elders in all realms.

To the North: I call for your power and spirit to come in."

"To Mother Earth, enfolding all beings with the beauty of compassion, nurturance creativity and peace. Hear my prayer for the two-leggeds and the four leggeds, for those who fly and crawl and swim and walk and run, for all children of the Mother."

"To Father Sky, encircling all beings with the light of protection, warmth, clarity and vision. Hear my prayer and grant me the courage to bring the radiance of my true Self out into the world, and the humility and self-esteem to foster the radiance of others."

"To that place within my being where the 6 directions meet. May I live today from this center of wholeness and balance."

End with these words: 

"Thank you for this day. Thank you for this opportunity to serve. "

If you are alone, or if the group will continue with silent individual prayer, you may hold the cornmeal to your heart and speak your words to Great Spirit:

"Great Spirit, hear me. This one calls to you."

Then speak what is in your heart.

*In every direction spreading cornmeal or using the pipe to give tabacco to the wind spirits

I chose to do a WAXING MOON because it symbolizes-new beginnings, a fresh start, and rebirth, working up to the full moon. I also painted a moon because she taught of the cycles of the moon.

The vision/channeling i had of her started with floating high and white above a Golden field as two men approached. The feeling was complete peace and oneness to all that is. Then further into the village i followed, to teach. They awaited me to come out and speak with them. The feeling there brought me to tears and i could go no further. They all surrounded me in a circle and I felt as though i was singing in the most beautiful voice and teaching them the ways and giving the Elder the pipe. It was truly a moving experience that will stick with me forever. I was so saddened to awaken to these times having felt what she does for the Earth and all her creatures and how things have ended up. How very sad it is indeed, the state in which Mother Earth has been treated and disrespected. My only hope is that all her great teachings are restored once more to all races of the world when we meet on The Rainbow Bridge one day. I pray that Mother Earth be cleansed and rid of all evil that ails and destroys her and that once more BALANCE/HARMONY of life be restored!

I hope to give this painting to my unborn child who i believe will be a daughter and to all children i meet to teach them of The Great White Buffalo Calf Woman and her wondrous teachings.

Oh YES, YES YES! This is the way SPIRIT works - big smile :-)

And it makes me so happy that lightgrid is uniting us so beautifully, too! 

When we follow the call, the inner voice, our dreams and visions, miracles beyond any restriction begin to occur in our lives - we meet the right people, our tribe, YES!, as you so beautifully call them, we are at the right place at the right time to witness what is meant for us to happen ... and we enter the river of life which brings JOY and POWER to our lives!
