Redefining "ACTIVE" and "PASSIVE"

Sakti [shakti] means “power”;

in Hindu philosophy and theology sakti is understood to be the active dimension of the godhead,

the divine power that underlies the godhead’s ability to create the world and to display itself.

Within the totality of the godhead,

sakti is the complementary pole of the divine tendency toward quiescence and stillness.

It is quite common, furthermore, to identify sakti with a female being, a goddess,

and to identify the other pole with her male consort.

The two poles are usually understood to be interdependent and to have relatively equal status in terms of the divine economy (David R. Kinsley, Hindu Goddesses: Visions of the Divine Feminine in the Hindu Religious Tradition [Berkeley: University of California Press, 1986], 133).

 

 

The term shakti refers to multiple ideas.

Its general definition is dynamic energy

that is responsible for creation, maintenance, and destruction of the universe.

It is identified as female energy because shakti is responsible for creation,

as mothers are responsible for birth.

Without shakti, nothing in this universe would happen;

she stimulates siva, which is passive energy in the form of consciousness, to create.

Shakti, the Divine Feminine Principle, stimulates Shiva to creation. She is the ACTIVE principle! Shiva, the passive energy in form of CONSCIOUSNESS, is inspired to action by her - without Shakti Shiva would remain detached from the world.

 

The male principle stands for CONSCIOUSNESS

 

The female principle stands for the DYNAMIC ENERGY which is necessary to bring matter into being through BIRTH, to maintain and nourish it and to DESTROY it in the end. The Divine Feminine Principle stands for CREATION, MAINTAINANCE and DEATH - She is the MOTHER of MATTER.

 

MATER means MOTHER - and it results in MATTER.

 

THE FEMININE PRINCIPLE - which we have learned to identify as the passive rpinciple per se - is in fact a most ACTIVE one. It is the POWER of LIFE. Without the Goddess - the Holy SPIRIT - God would rest in eternal quietud ... It is only through Her that He is inspired to ACT - to become what we have learned to identify as the ACTIVE principle of creation!

 

Passive and Active ... what is what - which is which? ...

 

Just as the right brain hemisphere governs the left side of the body and the left brain hemisphere governs the right side of the body, the active principle of FEMININE ENERGY appears to be passive on the outside and the passive principle of MASCULINE CONSCIOUSNESS appears to be active in the outside reality ... or is it just that we have learned to ACCEPT these definitions of masculine being active and feminine being passive???

 

The Feminine Principle is most active in terms of MOVING the ENERGY - although it might appear as passive as the Creative Power is invisible - PREGNANCY ...

 

The Masculine Principle is passive, in so far as it is RECEIVING the input of the feminine power by which it is urged to ACTION - BIRTH ...

 

The CHILD can only be born when BOTH work diligently together ...

 

The Feminine Principle stands for IN-SPIRITation

The Masculine Principle stands for EX-pression

 

When Shiva Consciousness is Inspired by Shakti Energy, it begins to MOVE

It starts to stir

It starts to create

And what we perceive is Masculine Energy moving outward, ACTING,

And we tend to ignore the Inspiring Feminine Energy

Yet, behind the scenes, Shiva is but enacting Shakti's Power.

 

And TOGETHER THEY CREATE

They Create New Life

They create pictures, music, movies, dance, theatre and everything else

TOGETHER

 

Behind the Scenes

Masculine Consciousness is RECEIVING

Feminine Power is FORMING

 

Apparantly

Feminine Energy Inspires

Masculine Energy Expresses

and new horizons are opening!!!

Our challenge is not to learn to manifest
- for we are all masters of the art -
but to have a greater discernment
over that which we are already manifesting.

As we said at the beginning of these Bridge Messages, we're moving into a time when all manifestations will become instantaneous; when we will have a thought and it will be there. If you look back over the last 20 to 30 years, you can see that this is so. It wasn't long ago that you could make an intention to fulfill a desire and it seemed to take weeks or even months to manifest. Nowadays, however, you can make an intention and step around the next corner and practically trip over your manifestation. Everything is speeded up. Our evolution and all of the powers that accompany it are accelerating at a pace that calls forth the best within us just to keep up. The next few years will be a training ground for us to see if we can be responsible to that which serves us. Will we create a life of abundance and joy - or something else?

Inspiration and Consciousness

are the tools to manifest.

 

As masculine and feminine energies are being balanced within us,

the process of manifestation is being accelerated.

 

Once Consciousness has been trained to discern before acting on whatever Inspiration,

The World we create shall become the place we wish it to be :-)

It is Yin and Yang ,Positive and Negative,Active and Passive, Shiv and Shakti, Matter and Consciousness !

I absolutely agree, dear SohiniBen - I was inspired to write this ... it is like an enormous object finally having been found ... yet, I am only starting to excavate this precious finding without having a precise idea of it's actual size and even less, of what is to be found inside - LOL!

Hi there - great read! Firstly I am so glad I understand it..... !LOL
Do we also need to master our emotions and thoughts, so that we can obseve what is happening outside of us and not be attached or impacted by it? Once we can master the emotions, the polarity here in 3D are we then permitted to ascend knowing that we will operate in full integrity and honesty?

This is my understanding which would seem to fit or add on to your wonderful note.

Yes, I think that's what it is all about - to master our thoughts and emotions to become detached from what is occuring in the outside world to an extent which allows us to respond rather than re-act :-) ... What I find most interesting is to observe now my own make up of feminine and masculine qualities. Isn't it intersting to note that the Divine Feminine is about POWER and ENERGY?!? It is the Moving Force ... this is absolutely new to me and helping me a lot to more fully integrate the aspect of the Divine Feminine into my life ... when my Chi level is low - my feminine energies need a boost. Thus, calling on Isis, Cerridwen, Durga, Lady Nada, Mother Mary or any other Representative of the Divine Feminine will help.

On the other side, if I feel that I have problems of discernment or when I feel I could fall vicitm to emotions of anger, frustration or fear, calling on Shiva, Sananda, Kuthumi, Sanat Kumara or another Representative of the Divine Masculine will most probably help to raise my consciousness again to a level of quietude and understanding from whence I can respond in a LOVING way to the circumstances at hand ... this new understanding which is now gradually surfacing within me is being solidified with every comment I write - and shall now be brought to practice - LOL!

I have caught a bad cold. My Chi level is rather low - so I shall invoke the Power of the Goddess tonight! I'll tell you about the outcome of this experiment if you are interested - lol!
