Stand up in your Truth: overcoming the fear of moving forward and speaking up

With so many planets forming hard aspects right now, most of us probably feel a certain amount of inner tension.  Yet, we might be stuck in our heads, trying to figure out what to do about it, where to go, how to escape…  but there is no escape from inner tension, there is only release.  Once we see the difference and make our peace with it, things can flow more easily.

But escape activities do serve a real purpose: they allow us to postpone and chose the moments where we enter a state of greater awareness to look inside and observe what seems to be surfacing within us.  Awareness is the first step towards overcoming our fear of moving forward.

The second step, the actual releasing of inner tension, is about taking action and speaking up, standing for who we are in the truth of our heart.  It is not uncommon to find it challenging to get to that second step.  Taking action and speaking up mean that we need a sense of direction, and if we feel overwhelmed by emotions, it will be difficult to have a clear sense of where we want to go.

The best method to find our way through the mists of confusion is probably to stop looking.  There is no point trying to figure something out of confusion.  It is best to disconnect our brain, close our eyes, and feel our way through it.  The heart always knows truths deeper than what the brain can access.

While considering your current life situation and trying to figure out how to move forward and what direction to take, reflect on your past experiences:

• What brought you a feeling of inner peace?
• What brought you joy?
• What brought you fulfillment?

Do not think your way through those questions.  Feel them.  Allow your heart to be filled with the sensations and feelings you experienced in these moments.  If you can truly feel them in your heart, this is the path to follow.  The next step is to move to action and trust that you will be fully supported by the Universe.

When I’m still unsure of where I’m going, I always ask myself if I feel like this little bee in Bee movie, who keeps going at the window over and over again, repeating «maybe this time… maybe this time…  maybe this time…»

To me, this is very much what it feels like to get stuck and I know that whenever I hit a wall, there is no point trying to go at it over and over again: it only means that this is not my path and that I need to redirect myself.

So basically, to overcome your fear of moving forward, of speaking up and of standing for who you truly are, ask yourself if you’re playing the bee game, and then use your heart as a compass.
