Healing of Humanity

In every person’s life there comes a time when they find themselves lost in a sea of doubt.

You know what; you have heard those words before I am sure. There is no point in stating the obvious. I vowed to myself that if I was to take on a project such as this I would pour as much of my heart and soul into it as I could without bleeding myself dry. Using outdated and overused sayings and ideals to get my message through would be an insult to you and the purpose of this work so I will not waste your time. You need to see me, hear me and feel the real me if my words are going to set your spirit free.

So this is me telling you that in my world there is no room for dwelling on mistakes and misfortunes, there is no time to whine and pout about our sorrows. If that seems harsh, then so be it; harsh is what it must be if that is what it takes to inspire you to action.

Every person reading this has known what it is to lose faith; each and every one of you has tasted the bitterness of defeat, looked into the eyes of loss. Even if it was only the smallest of things that you have been forced to give up you know from personal experience how much it hurts to have something you cherish taken away.

The magical wonderful thing about this is that you are still here. You did not quit, you did not give up, you did not walk away from or hide from the challenges that life presents. You lived... You will continue to do so, growing stronger each day in the knowledge that by the power of your will, by the discovery of your own inner strength and courage you will be here to fight another day.

What I just shared with you is the intro to my third novel, a novel I am hoping you will help me to write. You see life led me down a strange and twisted path and dumped me right in the middle of a new place to call home. Humanity Healing International has been an inspiration to me and has encouraged me to explore my talents as an author in ways I never thought to experience. My quandary up unitl now however is this; how does one give back or reward such a precious gift. I have very little money, have never been good at raising funds; I simply cannot fathom now having seen the things I have seen reaching out my hand and asking for money without giving anything of myself in return.

The only gift I have to offer is my written word; a word some of my friends sweetly tell me can caress the heart and bring forth lightness of spirit. It is that which I wish to do here, working side by side with Humanity Healing to present to you the reader a collaboration of uplifting and inspiring tales of those who have survived adversity, illness, disability, poverty and oppression.

There are those out there who claim that merely writing the words is not enough; that the stories we share do not have a large enough impact on our world. I admit this idea had me folding in on myself. For one such as me whose passion it is to learn and share through her writing the things she has seen, the thought of my contribution not being enough came close to destroying the very core of who I am. Yet when I took the time to reflect on it, I realized just how powerful words can be.

They say the pen is mightier than the sword so I say ‘Out pen!! – Parry parry – thrust – lunge – Out pen!! For Victory!!

But what does that mean? It means that there is never a time when it is OK to say ‘I give up’, it means there is never a time when it is OK to say ‘I give in’, it means there is never a time when it is OK to say ‘I can’t’

This book is being created in honour of all those who fought their own personal battle and won; in remembrance of those who fought bravely and lost; as it is with all of our historic hero’s it is the courage they showed through their struggles that is the everlasting gift they left behind.

The idea is to bring those stories to life and put them into one inspiring and uplifting piece of work that will prove to the world that survival and Victory is a CHOICE to be made by each individual who comes up against their dark.

The proceeds of the sale of this book will go to HH to assist in the funding of their various independent humanitarian projects. Upon completion of this work the copy write to it will belong to HH. I am just the pen who is blessed enough to be able to bring you these tales of hope and faith. It will be published through my publisher Grave Distractions Publications who has agreed to back the project and in keeping with our work towards raising the bar when it comes to environmental issues and our collective desire to exceed the expectations with regards to those issues the book will only be printed to order and will be made available as a downloadable e book on kindle.

I have a very close friend who often refers to my novels as my baby. Today was the birth of a new story, and shortly after her coming into the world at 11 am this morning she was named – HEALING OF HUMANTIY – She is a very precious newborn, with a very special purpose. This time however she is not mine alone, she is ours. The core of her spirit will come from you the readers, you the survivors, you the warriors, you the Victors. I ask now that you help me to raise her and bring her up to be full of the light and love we all know each child is naturally born with.

This book will be in part dedicated to Liane Legey, DeZengo Moore, Korey Tuttle – for the fearless refusal to be beaten by life, for the courage to continue to walk forward with held high even as the tears are rolling down your cheeks and for the unwavering support and faith in my work that you have offered.

Also in part to a very special man - Vincente N.Carranza for pushing me so far I had no choice but to push back... thanks friend for rekindling the flame...
