108: The Master Number of our Reality

This morning I was simply curious about the significance of 108, since a few days ago I attended a Buddhist ceremony and they were making 108 Jasmine flowers inside a special vase. I asked them, "What's so special about 108? What's the significance?" They didn't know.....So I Googled....

and down the rabbit hole I went....

As it turns out, nothing could be more important...It's the most crucial of information regarding the construct of our reality.

108 permeates every religion, and I mean every single one.

1 = Oneness / 0 = Emptiness / 8 = Infinity (turned on its side of course ;) / 108 = All of Creation

(1^1) x (2^2) x (3^3) = 108

(or 1 to the first power times 2 squared times 3 cubed)

Within the Pentagram, every interior angle is 108 degrees.

Every Hindu God has thousands of names, but only 108 of them are recited by devotees.

The distance from the Sun to the Earth divided by the diameter of the Sun = 108

The distance of the Moon to the Earth divided by the diameter of the Moon = 108

There are 12 signs of the zodiac and 9 planets (12 x 9 = 108)

According to Buddhism, there are 108 feelings possible for a human being. We have 6 senses (sight, smell, touch, taste, hearing and consciousness), these can be either positive, negative or neutral (3), internal or external (2), and past, present or future (3), so therefore

6 x 3 x 2 x 3 =  108

Chanting mantras 108 times is supposed to harmonize all these possible vibrations

There are 108 pressure points on the human body

Stonehenge is 108 feet in diameter

In Japanese Buddhism, a temple bell is chimed 108 times at the end of an old year to bring in the new one, representative of overcoming the 108 earthly desires.

There are 27 constant constellations and 4 elements (fire, water, earth, air), 27 x 4 = 108

In Islam 108 is another word for Allah

In Islam, Buddhism and Christianity there are 108 beads on prayer beads

There are 108 shrines for Shiva in India and 108 shrines for Vishnu as well

1 = Sun (creation) / 0 = Sustaining life / 8 = Saturn (destruction)

In the Sanskrit alphabet there are 54 letters, each one have a male and female form (54 x 2= 108)

108 energy lines converge to create the heart chakra

There are 108 forms of dance in India

Buddha's left footprint had 108 divine attributes

There are 108 books in the Upanishads

108 = 1 + 8 = 9 = The Master Number (perfect wholeness)

If you try to multiply 9 by any number, the answer always comes out to 9 (using the Vedic system)

Our breathing during our life is arranged in multiples of 108

There are 108 lies

There are 108 sins or earthly desires

There are 108 forms of "God"

There are 108 stages to the spiritual journey.

This was only the tip of the iceberg by the way.....there's too much information to write it all
