Fires Lit in Ireland

It ' came to me ' to pass on this exciting news which I heard over the weekend. This year in Ireland at Uishnach, the hill which is at the sacred center of Ireland ( in the heart chakra of the Irish landscape temple), they lit fires again on top of the hill at Beltane.

Long ago there was an eternal flame kept burning there ( looked after by women ) and once a year - I think it was on the festival of Beltane - people had to put out the lights in their houses as a circle of fires was lit on the surounding hills and a second circle around them further out . ..

There was a ceremony on top of the hill and the High King of Ireland and the other Irish Kings took some of the fire back to their respective kingdoms . The flame of the Divine Mother has returned ! How beautiful is that !

Sharon's note: Many are now honoring and calling on the sacred sites in Ireland. This is of the utmost importance as these sites are themselves great fountains of light that gladly pour their radiance into the Net of Light. This, remember, is the Net of Light that the Grandmothers say, "Will hold the earth steady during the times that are now upon you." "This is What We Wish for You this Holiday Season: A Vessel of Love"

The Grandmothers had been nudging me for a few days, giving me snippets of information. Something about expanding versus contracting. Something to do with the holiday season. What, I wondered, did they want to communicate about this time of year?

No sooner did I ask my question than "Oh Gosh!" I exclaimed as onto the scene of my mind they brought Christmas scenes-snow, carolers, lights, trees, etc. As I watched I realized that all these images had come from the Victorian era--Dickens, Scrooge, all that. "Oh God," I said, horrified by the degree to which I'd been brainwashed, " I've bought the whole thing--hook, line and sinker."

"But this isn't bad," the Grandmothers laughed, poking fun at me. "Scenes like these often give people a feeling of comfort. We are always glad to see people happy. So if these images give you a good feeling, enjoy them. Enjoy them but don't make them more than they are," they admonished. "Remember," they said, " that happiness simply occupies the space between unhappiness. And unhappiness is the breath between two periods of happiness. Life flows. So do not cling to things that you think will make you "happy." Enjoy them, but do not attempt to hang on to them. It is the nature of both happiness and unhappiness to rise and fall, to rise and fall," they explained. "This is the rhythm of life.

Enjoy those traditions of the season that fulfill you--especially if they serve to open your heart. Enjoy yourself and at the same time remember that holiday times invariably carry a charge. Holidays are loaded with memories-both pleasant and unpleasant, and should you end up focusing too much on past memories, you will be drawn off your course. You will lose your balance in the living now and be pulled back down memory lane. This nostalgic charge can hypnotize you, get you longing for the past or regretting it. And should you become caught like this, you will fall into a contracted, not an expanded, state. A contracted state is a false place for you to be because the past IS gone. Furthermore, the past is NOT what you imagine it to be. The human mind invariably restructures memory; so you cannot rely upon recall. Plus, whenever you become fascinated by what is no more and start looking backwards, your energy drops. Too much focusing on the past will enervate you.

Your purpose in being on earth is to expand your heart, to inwardly open. As more love flows into you and from you, you become a vessel of love. Remember this, especially during this season: A vessel of love. This is what you were meant to be. This is what you are.

Don't look backward and don't look far forward either, but instead stand steady in the present moment with your heart open. This we ask of you. Make this holiday season sacred. Do not be distracted by the mass materialism of the world but instead perform whatever actions serve to open your heart, knowing that this open heart will give you, not temporary, but lasting happiness. The open heart will soon become your home base and when it does, you will ride the waves of life with increasing contentment and serenity. Blessing and being blessed. Moving forward inside your ever opening heart.
