The 8 Biggest Lies about healthy food

Give strength or spinach or carrots will make you look better. Here are false myths we have been told about eating "healthy."


The wonders of marketing and health food gurus would have us believe that certain foods make miracles in the human body: slim, fat burn, take away hunger, or even make us happier. However, most of the myths about healthy eating are absolutely false. These are the eight biggest lies they have told us about it.

1.The whole foods lose weight
Many believe that "integral" is like "diet." Grave error. Flours and grains have almost the same calories as refined products. Yes we can say that they are healthier because they are high in minerals and fiber that help to eliminate toxins more easily. But by no means thin.

2. Salads from fast food are the "healthy choice"
Never short of entering McDonald's, instead of asking for a hamburger as God commands, choose the salad because it is the "healthy choice." A recent private research salads sold in fast food outlets found that these products are exceeded for salt and fat. The example is terse: a Big Mac has 540 calories and 1,040 milligrams of salt, while a complete salad with chicken and dressing has 530 calories and 1,260 mg of salt. So the Big Mac is healthier, or less harmful. And richer.

3. 0% fat products are healthy
It is very common that you feel entitled to eat without guilt all foods "0% fat (fat free in English). Many people eat because they think that magically lose weight. The problem is that by removing the fat, much of the original flavor of these products is removed, forcing manufacturers to add sugar and all kinds of chemicals of dubious origin. Therefore, 0% fat food can be worse than common.

4. The cookies are better than bread
More myths crumble. And good news for hardcore fans of the bread, cookies are far more calories (420 to 100 grams) bread (280 to 100 grams) and more fat. So we end up with crumbs that make walking unbearable with crackers and ask the waiter another basket.

5. The lemons provide vitamin C and have no sugar
It is true that lemons provide vitamin C, but it is also true that other fruits have the same properties and are delicious. Please note: a kilo of strawberries has more vitamin C than a kilo of lemons and, believe it or not, has less sugar. So, enough with the sacrifice taking lemon juice to prevent colds and flu, believing it will make us powerful. Strawberries have the same properties as vitamins and they are definitely richer.

6. The cereal bars are good

In recent years, we multiplied the variety of cereal bars at newsstands. Many athletes consume protein supplement. What everyone does not know is that these cereal mixed with fruit and chocolate, can have up to twice the sugar than some conventional candy. Watch out.

7. Give strength spinach
Popeye muscles drew a tremendous every time I ate his can of spinach. It is true that this vegetable contains iron, but not as lentils, liver, pork or cockles. In addition, laxatives and spinach contain substances that make it harder chelating iron absorption by the human body.

8. Carrots sharpen vision
Eating carrots that Bugs Bunny does not save us from glasses if you really have vision problems. Beta-carotene contained in this vegetable are precursors of vitamin A, necessary for the manufacture of pigment rhodopsin, which improves visual acuity in environments with poor lighting conditions. Ie not eating carrots we will have the eyes of a lynx, at best we will see a little bit better when it is dark.

I read results of studies, ignoring the myths. I've had excellent results. But I've studied a lot. And nothing from anyone benefiting from their sale.
