  The Evolving Consciousness of the Mayan Suns

Do you ever wonder why on one day you consider only yourself and yet on a different day you can only think of others. Do you remember the days you've had where you let your imagination fly into the cosmos wondering about life in other realms. This shifting of focus can be explained by cycles within the Mayan sacred calendar.

In months past we have examined the 20 suns and how they manifest reality within the four directions. We discovered that the directions evolve and spiral in an unending evolutionary cycle from the initiating East to the refining North into the transforming light of the West and flowering into the South every four days.

In the cycle of 20 sacred suns there are four sub groups of 5 suns each that are a different configurations than the 4 groups ruling the four directions. This is yet another way to group the 20 suns together to understand the commonalties and differences between these ancient cosmic memory activators. These groups are ruled by a consciousness and also a corresponding physical/emotional reality. The Suns that reside in these groups are influenced by the orientation or the perspective of the group. A person will also be influenced by the group that the Sun they were born under resides in and this creates a base energy affecting their entire life.

The evolving spiraling groups of consciousness are categorized in 4 groups, these are: INDIVIDUAL, COMMUNITY, GLOBAL, and UNIVERSAL.

The Suns IMIX, IK, AKBAL, KAN, and CHICCHAN fall into the group labeled individual CONSCIOUSNESS. These days are the "I" days. We may think of ourselves first, consider our own personal desires and contemplate our necessities for survival. We can be very instinctual like a powerful Jaguar stalking in the depths of the jungle of our individual realities. We find ourselves acting without thinking first, yet find our instincts have served us well. Ones born on these day are generally self-centered and self-empowered. Considering this group has two suns coming from the East there is also an initiating quality to this group

The Suns CIMI, MANIK, LAMAT, MULUC, and OC are in the group labeled Community CONSCIOUSNESS. These are the "WE" days. On these days we think in terms of the group rather than of only ourselves. We find ourselves thinking of others before ourselves. We are like the bees. We work together incorporating our individual gifts and talents to the consciousness of the whole. This can be a very intellectual group. These Suns are masters at thinking things through and using mental capacities to reason and solve problems, making them great community participants. These days call to us through our intellect and our thinking capacities. Those born on these days usually have large families or consider community living. They are extroverted and are easy to get to know. Considering this group has two suns from the North there is a refining and cerebral quality to this group.

The Suns CHUEN, EB, BEN, IX, and MEN emerge from the group labeled Global CONSCIOUSNESS. These are the days that expand beyond the thought of individual groups and family as they receive their orientation by merging with the whole of our planet. We think in perspectives encompassing global proportions. We consider ourselves part of the totality of humanity. These are good days for diplomacy on our planet. We are not limited by family or national ties. Planet Earth is our home and humanity is our family. Those born on these days general find themselves working in ways that effect the planet globally. There is also a strong emotional/psychic side to this group that activates global change by using emotion and vision. I have observed that many who are involved in global activism express emotional perspectives to make their points. This type of global activism effects us deeply as we experience this with feelings. Personal relationships may be strained by the orientation of this group as relationship takes a secondary role in the lives of those born to this group. Considering this group has two suns coming from the West there is also a transformational quality to this group.

The Suns CIB, CABAN, ETZNAB, CAUAC, and AHAU ascend from the group labeled UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUSNESS. These are the days that we experience other worlds and realms of consciousness other than our third dimensional physical realty. These days are beyond the global perspective and promote universal and spiritual orientation stretching us beyond our limiting programming. These 5 Suns are the highest expression of truth for the planet. They spark the vision and lead us toward a new reality. These days can be quite internal yet when expressed outwardly share a vision for the future. Those born on these days can be idealists and are sometimes misunderstood because of their expanded futuristic visions and ideals. Sometimes the profound truths of these days are not understood until much latter. Ones born on these days may not be understood or valued until long after they have expressed their visions. But without their expanded vision we would not evolve as a human race. Because within these 5 Suns are two suns coming from the south this group has a frequency of higher vision and completion.

When we are born into one of these groups we live from the orientation in their definitions. Yet if we acted and evolved solely from these frames of consciousness life would become very unbalanced. But we don't, Every five days we cycle through one of the groups of consciousness in ascending order. We evolve our consciousness and reality in unending, ascending cycles of perspective and orientation. Each one of these groups gives us insight and we find value in each of these group's perspectives. We can understand these consciousness within the framework of the energy of the day or the interactions of a personal relationship.

The group who considers solely the self would create a highly individualized world in which there would be no need for involvement or connection between beings as instinct would be relied on. Yet this group also asks us to remember the important individual needs of the physical body and the physical reality and teaches us to trust our instincts. If the group of Suns that considers others at the expense of the self we would have a world filled with martyrs. Yet this group teaches all of us to use our minds and think of others, bringing us back together. If the group that operates out of a global perspective lived solely in that reality the family/community systems would fail. Yet this group teaches us to expand our horizons and consider a bigger picture. This group teaches us to feel for the planet and humanity as a whole. If the group that lives with universal consciousness did only that, the fabric of reality that keeps our daily lives riveted together would collapse. Yet this group gives us a vision for the future, opening our hearts to the wonders of the universe that reach beyond the physically reality.

So you see, we really live in a world of diverse perspectives and projections. Sort of a cosmic soup. We must realize that our own personal orientation is not a complete picture of the truth as we merge everyday with other consciousness and orientations. Every day that we live in physical form on this small planet we evolve from and merge with different ways of being. We are actually Omni-consciousness beings. When we realize the cycling, ascending Omni-perspective/orentation effect of the Mayan Suns we come to the profound realization that we can not avoid evolving for we accomplish this every day just by being alive! All that is left to do now is fulfill history and prepare our hearts for the manifestation of the grand vision to appear.

Solar Meditation for Omni-Consciousness

As we move into a new way of being we also must learn a new way to receive energy. This new way is to learn about and work with the light of the Sun. We need to remember this natural talent by reconnecting with the grasses, plants and trees of earth. They understand how to be supported by the Sun and so do we! Our pineal and pituitary glands respond to sunlight when we open ourselves to the Sun. This can initiate resolutions to conflicts, heal our bodies and create profound inner peace. The pure light of the Sun is LOVE and INFORMATION from the source that can fill the emptiness inside all of us. We can feel supported, loved, and valued beyond any previous experience. In this meditation we will work with the sun in conjunction with the four consciousness to facilitate Omni-consciousness. You will breath 13 times for each consciousness. These 13 breaths time 4 equals 52 breaths which represent the synchronization of the Earth with the Pleiades.

Find a comfortable spot in the sun to sit so the Sun can shine on top of your head. Close your eyes and feel the heat "information" from the sun hitting the top of your head. Breath in slow, very deep breaths in through your nose and exhale ALL the breath out through your mouth. When you let out your breath let go of all your stress, confusion and other challenges you may be experiencing. It is most important during these breaths that you imagine you are breathing in the light of the Sun through the top of your head and down through your spine!

In this way breath 13 times for individual consciousness and think of only yourself. Feel your body and its natural rhythms. Feel the primal instincts within you. Feel the essence of self. Now, breath 13 times for community consciousness. Think of your family close friends and bring them into the meditation as if they are a part of you. Feel the cooperation between you and these beings. Feel the inter connectedness and harmony within your environment. Feel the essence of community. Continue now by expanding yourself while still merged with your community consciousness to encompass the planet. Breath another 13 breaths. Merge with the planet and humanity as a whole entity. See the barriers between cultures and continents dissolve. Feel the Earth and all of humanity as part of your being. Feel the essence of global consciousness. Now breath your final 13 breaths for universal conscious. Expand the planet of which you and your community are a part of into the awareness of universality. Begin to feel the presence of other worlds and civilizations. Feel the presence of our cosmic brother and sisters. We become one with all life in the cosmic. The energy of the cosmos supports our life. Feel the essence of the universe as one integrated whole. Open your eyes and stand up. Ask Hunab K'u to anchor these cosmic remembrances of consciousness in your being. Ask for guidance for the new ways to live in the universe as a unique part of a integrated whole.

 

Another SOLAR MEDITATION and  a beautiful PRAYER

I have discovered that working in front of the Sun has been very activating and has facilitated in clearing my past and creating my future. Here is a simple exercise you can do in front of the Sun. We all have different perspectives and what works for one person, may not resonate with another, so I share what I do as example only. Do what is in you heart to do, just do it in front of the Sun!

Find a quite place at sunset where you have a good view of the Sun. Sit, stand, whatever will make you comfortable. Take a few deep breaths. Hear the wind in the trees, hear the birds sing, feel the warmth of the earth under you bare feet, become part of the earth. Resonate with the Earth. Take notice of where your energy is drawn to. Where is your energetic orientation? You will find your sustaining energy coming from the Sun. Now look at the Sun (use personal digression), feel the heat of the Sun on your body. Feel the light filling every cell of your body. Consciously draw in the light and the heat. Recognize the sun as a friend, feel it recognize you. Resonate with the Sun. Remember the Sun is light and light is information so be aware of the incoming light.

At this point I use various forms of a prayer. The first part was inspired by Hunbatz Men, a Mayan daykeeper and elder. The second part was given to me during an incredible overnight stay at Palenque Mexico, in one of my favorite Mayan temples, the Temple of the Sun. Feel free to change it anyway you feel is appropriate for you.

Look here Father Sun,
It is me, a piece of the Sun.
I have come to you to understand
the meaning of the cosmos.
I ask I be allowed to go inside your memory
for I desire to remember.
I want to understand everything again.
I need this knowledge for the future,
so I may walk in harmony with the earth
and the stars once again.

I am the eyes that see as the creator sees.
I am the ears that hear as the creator hears.
I am the mind that knows as the creator knows.
I am the heart that feels as the creator feels.
I am the voice that speaks as the creator speaks.
I am the souls that remembers as the creator remembers.
As in you, so in me
I am now, and I am here.

This prayer opens up the mind of Hunab K'u, the God of the Maya, for us to enter into to receive cosmic understanding. Begin here to state your concerns, and hand them to the Sun. Ask the Sun to resolve these concerns. Continue by stating your desires and dreams, and hand them to the Sun. Ask the Sun to manifest these dreams. As the Sun is almost completely set, say good by to the Sun. Pay close attention to your energy orientation as the last bit of sun slips behind the horizon. Notice how the energy of earth shifts greatly when the sun's rays are no longer hitting it, Notice the bird's songs, the heat difference. Most of all notice your energy orientation. You will discover it has changed greatly. You will find that you are being sustained by millions of stars that you can't even see yet. You are receiving information from the cosmos. Say hello to the universe in all its expansive wonder, and thank it for its sustaining energy. This Sun meditation can also be executed in reverse, at dawn. "Evam Maya e ma ho" All hail to the harmony of all mind and nature.
