Meikel is 13 years old. He suffers from cancer and is undergoing a difficult time. His 14th birthday is AUGUST 11th - and he is not looking forward to it as he will be weak from a chemo which started this week.

I have a special request

From Hanne Hansen to You

My son was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma the end of April. Due to the fact the oncologist and I did not see eye to eye, he threatened me with CPS(child protective service). So I was forced to go conventional treatment(doing vit and herbs and nutrition at home). Meikel and I were on our way to clinic to get chemo today, and he made a comment that broke my heart. Meikel said this birthday is going to suck. My sons birthday is August 11. We are doing a real strong chemo this week and have next week off..but he will still be real weak. School starts on August 10th, but we have decided to get him homeschooled for a bit until he is strong enough to attend. So he wont be surrounded by all his friends, and he feels like horse pucky.

My special request....I think it would be really cool if I could get people to send him birthday cards and well wishes. I am thinking if he gets hundreds of cards from people giving him words of encouragemnet..it would cheer him up:) Our address: Meikel Hansen, 624 W Posada Ave., Mesa AZ 85210
