On June 19th, Radical Joy for Hard Times, of which I am a board member, will sponsor simultaneous worldwide events, called Earth Exchanges, to honor wounded places all over the earth, envisioning a planet where people and wounded places are reconciled through acceptance, love, and acts of beauty, so no part of the Earth is orphaned from the cycle of life. At these Earth Exchanges, people will come together at places whose wounding touches their hearts-- clear cut forests, polluted rivers, sites of urban sprawl, coal mines, damaged coral reefs, communities in the shadow of industrial waste, sites of vanishing bats or honeybees or Bengal tigers, melting glaciers, and many others. They will tell their stories there, look for beauty and meaning in unlikely places, and create an act of beauty of their own to give back to the place.
Sharon and I extend an invitation to all grandmothers to join the launch of Radical Joy For Hard Times and hold the Gulf Coast in the Net of Light on June 19th.
If you are inspired to hold an Earth Exchange yourself for some wounded place near you, go to www.radicaljoyforhardtimes.org and download an application form. If you have any questions, please contact me at email@example.com.
yours in the light, Farion
