No, I'm not playing hide and go seek, but I am seeking a stronger immune response! Release tension and stress and strengthen immunity with acupressure tools.
Autumn is a transition time that is a valuable time to boost our immune response. Healthy diet, planty of water, movement and stress relief practices like the following can all help our immunity to flourish as the weather continues to change.
To come into balance mentally and emotionally sometimes needs a little oomph. These tools are instinctual; think of a time you slapped your hands to your forehead in a “Oh no! I did….” Or maybe you rubbed your face when frustrated. It’s as if the body is trying to use the healing power of our hands, but we don’t notice. What if we connect our awareness and our intention toward healing, and use the power of our own hands? We have incredible tools right at the end of our arms—healing powerhouses!
If you are feeling a little off balance, confused, overwhelmed, irritable, (who isn't these days?) try this acupressure hold. Pause and notice your state- without self-judgement or blame, then feel your feet on the ground. Rub palms together, shake them, then rub again, until you feel the warmth of increased heat. Cross pinkies, place between eyebrows on the center of the head, push in a bit and lift up, stretching the forehead toward the hairline just a bit. Rest thumbs at the temples, fingers at hairline, and breathe. Just for a few breaths, easily in and out the nose.
Imagine the warmth flowing in a calm, peaceful river through the head, back to front, ear to ear. Imagine these trustful streams of light flowing with the breath.
This movement connects us energetically to natural rhythms, increases our self awareness, increases blood flow to the brain, and strengthens the removal of toxins like stress energy. Try a few breaths, or a few minutes, then assess any change. Celebrate any shift with a smile!
