This  project is called “Serpiente Emplumada” or the “Feathered Serpent” i n honor of the ancient Mesoamerican deity Quetzalcoatl, who was associ ated with the planet Venus and was lauded as the bringer of culture an d civilization.\nAmong other events, Serpiente Emplumada will be hosti ng the ‘First Congress of Archeoastronomy and Mayan calendarics’ from the 18th-20th March in the Yucatan. They will also be hosting an d promoting traditional ceremonies at pyramids and sacred sites throug hout Mexico. The idea behind the Serpiente Emplumada project is to hig hlight the most significant dates in 2012 and to create appropriate  ceremonies that honor these important times.\nSerpiente Emplumadaare  are calling for a worldwide pulsing of hearts in a planetary unified m editation in order to generate a critical mass and awaken a new Earth and a new humanity. With this intention, they are helping to organize different academic and cultural  forums on archeoastronomy and ancien t Mesoamerican calendar systems.
