SUMMARY:Earth Hour 2015
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nEARTH HOUR IS A GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT BY WWF
.\nWWF is the parent organisation of Earth Hour and started Earth Hour
with teams and partners in Sydney, Australia back in 2007.\n\nSWITCH
OFF the power tomorrow, April 28th, 2015, for at least one hour :-)\n\
nEarth Hour launched in Sydney in 2007, with 2.2 million people and 2,
100 businesses participating in the ‘lights off’ event. Just one y
ear later, Earth Hour became a global phenomenon with over 35 countrie
s participating, and an estimated 50-100 million people.\nIn 2014, Ear
th Hour was celebrated in over 162 countries and over 7000 cities and
towns worldwide. The symbolic hour has grown into the world’s larges
t grassroots movement for the environment, with beyond the hour projec
ts and initiatives happening throughout the year.\nEarth Hour is a gre
at home-grown success story: an Aussie campaign designed to draw atten
tion to tackling global warming and get people talking about what we c
an do to help.\nIn Australia, Earth Hour is something that really brin
gs communities together, with 1 in every 3 Aussies taking part.\nIn 20
15 we’re inviting you to once again join in the action as we throw o
ur support behind Aussie food and farmers.\nWe grew up with healthy, h
omegrown food and we all want our children to have the same opportunit
 y. But our food is already being affected by global warming. This incl
udes everything from the bananas we enjoy on our breakfast cereal ever
y morning and our avocado and Vegemite on toast, to our lunchtime ham,
cheese, tomato and lettuce wrap, and spaghetti bolognese - our dinner
 time favourite.\n\nWhat's happening?\n\nOn March 28th 2015, thousands
of food-related events and Earth Hour dinners will be taking place aro
und the country.\nEvents will range from twilight picnics, to food fai
rs to night time farmers markets to paddock pop-up restaurants!\nAll e
vents will be supporting Aussie farmers and highlighting how food and
farming is being impacted by global warming.\nYou’re invited to host
an event!\n\n\nFor more information visit https://lightgrid.ning.com/
