I was so upset by the invasion of Iraq, I hardly understood my emotions. I felt like my generation, which had now become the establishment, was ignoring the message that we received in the 60s: if you see this happening again, stand up and shout! (Yes, I saw a real parallel with Vietnam.) But I dare to believe that something good might be happening now and will continue to read what you have posted. And I liked what Sonja wrote about

I was born in 1957 and was surprisingly aware of counter-cultural devlopments in the 60s, largely because I grew up 2 blocks from Penn State, was the son of a faculty member, many of my friends were children of faculty, and I was able to enjoy the cultural offerings of the university. Many of our family friends were peace activists. I traced the Beatles evolution from I Want to Hold Your Hand to Sgt. Pepper and beyond with fascination. I saw Ravi Shankar when I was 11, heard the Vienna Philharmonic do an all-Bartok program not long after. Recently, I have wondered if the human race were going to be surprised into a shift of consciousness, and I like your practical thoughts in that regard. Keep me posted...
